Overview
New Energy delivered a 10 kW commercial solar PV installation at Culture House in Sunderland, carefully integrating the new system around existing rooftop plant, services and solar infrastructure. The project required thoughtful use of the available roof areas, with the completed system connected into the building’s electrical infrastructure and fully tested, commissioned and handed over for ongoing operation.
THE PROJECT
The Challenge
The main challenge was integrating a new commercial solar PV system onto an already heavily serviced rooftop. Existing PV arrays, mechanical plant, ductwork and access routes limited the usable roof space, so the installation had to be carefully planned to make effective use of the available areas while maintaining safe access and avoiding disruption to the building’s existing services.
HOW WE DELIVERED
The Solution
New Energy developed a carefully coordinated rooftop solution, positioning the new PV arrays across the available roof areas while maintaining access around existing plant, services and infrastructure. The system was integrated into the building’s electrical distribution through dedicated isolation, metering and inverter equipment, then fully tested and commissioned as a complete grid-connected installation.
THE OUTCOME
Results
The completed installation provides Culture House with an additional 10 kW of on-site solar generation, making productive use of constrained rooftop space while maintaining access around existing building services. The system was electrically tested, commissioned and documented for ongoing operation, with the handover package covering system operation, maintenance and warranty information.
