PROJECT OVERVIEW
Overview

NETPark is one of the UK’s leading science, engineering and technology hubs. To support its sustainability ambitions, a 1.16 MW solar PV system was installed across multiple buildings, helping reduce reliance on grid electricity while supporting long-term carbon reduction and energy-cost objectives.

The system was designed to maximise available roof space and deliver optimal energy generation while minimising operational disruption across the site.

THE PROJECT
The Challenge

NETPark’s advanced laboratories, offices and production facilities require a reliable and consistent energy supply. The challenge was to introduce a large-scale renewable energy solution capable of supporting these demands while reducing energy costs and lowering the site’s carbon footprint.

HOW WE DELIVERED
The Solution

A 1.16 MW rooftop solar PV system was installed across multiple buildings at NETPark. The installation was strategically distributed to maximise solar generation while integrating seamlessly with the existing buildings and infrastructure, providing clean, renewable electricity to support the park’s long-term sustainability goals.

THE OUTCOME
Results

The completed 1.16 MW solar PV installation is expected to generate around 1,040 MWh of renewable electricity each year, reducing annual carbon emissions by approximately 242 tonnes. The system is also expected to deliver estimated annual energy-cost savings of around £310,000, supporting NETPark’s long-term sustainability objectives while reducing reliance on grid electricity.
