Overview
Peacock Manor Care Home is a residential care facility set in rural York. New Energy delivered a 74.93 kWp solar PV installation across nine separate roof areas, making effective use of the available roof space to generate clean electricity on site, reduce reliance on grid energy and support the care home’s wider sustainability objectives.

The Challenge
Peacock Manor needed to reduce its reliance on grid electricity and lower operating costs while maintaining a reliable energy supply for a care environment. The property also presented a more complex solar design challenge, with the available generation potential spread across nine separate roof areas rather than one simple roof plane.
HOW WE DELIVERED
The Solution
New Energy designed and installed a 74.93 kWp solar PV system distributed across nine roof areas of the property. By using the available roof space across the site, the system was designed to maximise on-site renewable generation while reducing dependence on grid electricity. The installation also incorporates monitoring and management functionality to support ongoing system performance and energy visibility.
THE OUTCOME
Results
The completed 74.93 kWp solar PV installation is expected to offset approximately 14.1 tonnes of CO₂ each year while reducing Peacock Manor’s reliance on grid electricity. The system also supports lower energy costs and strengthens the care home’s wider sustainability objectives, demonstrating how renewable energy can be successfully integrated into a complex multi-roof property.
